जनहित याचिका (Public Interest Litigation - PIL) का अर्थ है सार्वजनिक हित (public interest) के लिए अदालत में याचिका (petition in court) दायर करना।

PIL:शब्द और अर्थ

जनहित :

जनता के हित यानी सामान्य हित (common interest) या सार्वजनिक हित (public interest)

याचिका:

अदालत में अनुरोध (request in court) या प्रार्थना पत्र (petition)
